In reply to <a href="https://summeradams.com/adding-gold-and-brass-to-my-kitchen/#comment-22705">Anna</a>.

Great question! I should do an update. Nope, no rubbing off ONLY BECAUSE I added that clear coat. That makes all the difference. Since this post (about 4 years ago-ish?) I've lightly gone over them with a light coat of gold another time, followed by a clear coat, within a year and a half of each other (so...twice). Just a little refresh. They look great. I'll prob do it again at the end of this year. I did find a company that made brass industrial barstools last year but they sold out and haven't found them since. I should have bought them BUT I loved this color soooo much more.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck! xoxo

I use a similar gold spray made by the same brand but it's called Rustoleum American Accents 2x ultra cover metallic bright gold. It bonds to any surface. I have used it so much and I'm going to be using it on my faucet in the powder room soon. It's the perfect gold. Love what you've done Summer!

Haha isn't that funny?! I remember over 20 years ago thinking I will never wear "pedal pushers" like my grandma. Well, Capri pants were popular before I knew it and I loved them so much and had them in every color So I should have known that I would've eventually liked gold! So glad you stopped by! Xoxo

Thanks soooo much! I'm painting the walls white this week to lighten the space more and I think that gold just really makes a statement better against the white. But I do love mixing gold and grey so much too ;-)
