You asked for it, so here it is!!  Instructions on chalk painting upholstered furniture.  Yes, that’s what I said!  You can paint on the fabric!  Everyone’s been asking me for a step-by-step tutorial after I showed off the vintage tufted headboard for my sister that she inherited from my grandmother.  Such a fun project while I was him for the weekend in California.  It was sooo easy and turned out amazing!  I decided that the EASIEST way for you to get the idea is to watch this well-done 2-minute video by Better Homes and Gardens:

Isn’t she lovely?!!!! {cue Stevie Wonder song}  Seriously, if Stevie ain’t singing, then I must hear angels because it is heavenly!  It went from country blue velvet and gold to this gorgeous grey and white.  I’m seriously in LOOOOOVE and have made my sister promise that should anything happen to her, I get that headboard.  For the record, my one sister snatched it but she couldn’t take it with her across the country due to lack of room.  So I snatched it and couldn’t fit it in my SUV to take it from Cali back to Vegas.  (stupid stupid me to not just find another way, haha)  So, the OTHER sister finally got her hands on it and rightfully so.  She needed a headboard and this one is PERFECT for her.  I love that this beautiful piece got to stay in the family, while making it more her style.  I hope my grandma is proud.  I figure it’s either that or she is looking down and thinking we’ve ruined a perfectly good piece hahahaha!  No, I think she likes it…I have a feeling

And I should note….my sister was on a budget so we didn’t use my favorite Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  Walmart actually carries chalk paint and waxes that I think does a pretty darn good job for less than $8 a bottle and so we used them.  Pictured above is the Parisian Grey on the upholstery and White Adirondack for the trim.  We used the Clear Wax also.  Oh, and there was paint left over.  Pretty awesome, right?!
