Glam White & Gold Christmas Tree Ornaments & Ribbon

This pearl ornament was from a local boutique.  I had to have it! They only had one that I saw. Striped ornaments are from HomeGoods.  I have purchased most of my ornaments there or at Macy’s, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby or local boutiques over the years. At the end of the post I’ll have a bunch linked for you!

Velvet poinsettias from HomeGoods a few years ago.  The lovely bow ornament was a DIY Glam Rhinestone Bow Ornament tutorial I shared on the blog last week.  When I too these pics, I didn’t quite have all the ornaments done yet and now I do and they are so cute all on my tree!

Isn’t this the most gorgeous ribbon?! It’s white velvet wired ribbon with rhinestone edging and gold backing. I’m selling it in my online boutique for all of you.  It’s very expensive and a high-end boutique ribbon but it comes on a 5-yard roll. 

That cute dome house was from Target a few years back. I just love it.  And, of course, all of my cute white and gold boxes and wrapping paper are from Target and I just grab gold-toned ribbon and tie big bows on them, adding some little stems here or there. Wanna know a secret about my tree skirt? It’s no skirt at all!  Just a bunch of faux fur pieces of fabric and an old cut up rug bunched together.  It gives more dimension and is bigger that way!

My thick garland I’ve had for years burnt out on me and I was soooo sad BUT it was actually a blessing in disguise because it was so thick that I couldn’t fit all these glass trees on my mantel like I wanted to.

 Instead I purchased this inexpensive garland and added a strand of extra lights and then stuffed it with everything pretty until it looked how I wanted it to.  

The gold star garland came from Walmart, the crystal garland I already had from an old chandelier that I linked all together (but linked the same thing for you below at end of post), gold stems, velvet poinsettias from Hobby Lobby, gold eucalyptus from Pier1, and the little crystal drops were from Hobby Lobby too.  

The stockings have been with us for years now and I added fur trim and hot-glued it across the top (from Hobby Lobby). Can I vent for a minute?  Our closest Hobby Lobby is 45+ min away and it’s the first time we’ve lived somewhere where it hasn’t been around the corner.  Ugh.  But they’re finally putting one in here in Vancouver.  Yay!  Ok…back to the post.

While all my other glass trees in my entry came from Pottery Barn, these ones and the beaded and wooden ones all came from…..you guessed it….HomeGoods!  They had an entire aisle of trees this year.  It was awesome! I turned down it and thought, “These are all coming home with me and going on my mantel!” Ha!  And there is how I got the idea for my mantel.  Just a mini way-condensed version lol!

Glam White & Gold Christmas Coffee Table

I love a pedestal bowl with sparkly ornaments.  This one is from ZGallerie last year.

This is actually soooo much more simple than any other Christmas coffee table I’ve ever done but I’m liking it! Simple but sparkly and glamorous!

When I was a teenager, I performed in a youth group and one of my favorite Christmas songs was the Hallelujah chorus.  It gave me chills every time!

“King of kings, and Lord of lords…”
“…forever, and ever, …Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Hallelujah!!!!!”

Oh gosh, I want to go turn it on right now.  So, that is what inspired me this Christmas for the downstairs decor here.  I wanted to continue with the white and gold like I’d been doing during the fall but add crowns to my decor and make it feel royal and special and white and bright. You’ll see more crowns later in my other spaces.

I added a gold velvet lumbar from HomeGoods to add more of that golden warmth to my sofa. Just what it needed.

Moving into the living room, last week I shared our whimsical glam mantel to give you a little taste of the theme in here.

With the new Nutcracker Movie being released this year, and having 2 young children who still love the magic of Christmas, I was inspired to bring some fun “creatures” into our living room and bring a touch of whimsy.  These crowned swans were just the thing I had imagined!

I also shared our cozy glam hot cocoa bar station on the other side of the living room.

Adding one of my favorite deer heads that I’ve had for several years, and glamming her up a bit, was another perfect touch of whimsy.

Whimsical Glam Flocked Christmas Tree In Pastels

Tree #2!  Last year the tree in here was touching the ceiling and 1 1/2 feet wider and very full but it just swallowed this room.

This year I wanted this slimmer tree so that I wouldn’t have to move the furniture around. I’m sooo loving this tree and so glad I got it!

I also wanted a tree that was less full so that more light could pass through and also be able to tuck these soft maribou feather boas into it to look like soft fallen snow. I took each boa, folded it over and “doubled up” to make them look fuller and just tucked them in and out of the branches as if snow had just fallen there. I think I used 9 total!
I also have a pretty little tutorial on that middle ornament.

Hobby Lobby had all these pretty dusty blue and blush pink poinsettia stems this year and I was so thrilled!  I grabbed all of my sparkly white stems and ornaments to cover the tree and then just added small touches of the blue and blush.

All of my gifts always coordinate with my tree.  I’ve found such pretty wrapping papers and gift bags at HomeGoods and Target again this year, and the gift boxes as well.  I ordered pretty velvet ribbons from Etsy.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to add small Christmas decor items and stems around your gifts to create an even more beautiful look around your tree.

I love the soft look of this tree as the sun shines through and gives that glow.

I spent hours online looking for dusty blue velvet throw pillows and after having no success, I walked into HomeGoods one day and found these pretty ones with snowflake motifs.

Also there were these blush pink faux fur throw pillows that were more on the peachy side and less on the mauve side, just as I wanted.

On my coffee table I placed some faux fur beneath my “angel tray”.  This year I added all 3 of my angels to this pretty tray, along with one of my pretty deers and this bowl of ornaments.

I usually place my ornaments in a different pedestal bowl but I found this sparkly bowl at ZGallerie this year and knew it would be perfect.  You can use double-sided satin or velvet ribbon to tie on the ends for extra elegance.

Today I’m joined by a group of my talented blogging friends who are also sharing their holiday mantel and vignettes ideas with you.  Yesterday I revealed my elegant flocked Christmas tree and entryway in mixed metals, but once you enter my living room, you’ll notice it switches and a couple of soft colors come into play.  This whimsical glam Christmas mantel in pastels is different than anything I’ve done before and my family is loving it.  I’ll tell you all about it!

FIRST….two recent posts probably gave my regular readers a clue as to what my living room theme would be.

Last week I shared my diy ornament for the living room tree and it was a fun little sneak peek.

Then, I revealed our cozy glam hot cocoa bar cart here in the living room which also shared the same color palette and soft elements.

Whimsical Glam Christmas Mantel In Pastels

Ok, so as I write this blog post, we still haven’t seen the new Nutcracker Movie.  However, just seeing the previews over and over and reflecting on the Christmas tradition of going so many years at Christmas, I wanted to do something in my living room that brought that same kind of feeling.  The fantasy, the dreamland, the playfulness and magic…I wanted to bring a little bit of that fun into my living room and kitchen.  I’ll reveal the rest of my living room and tree, as well as my kitchen in the next couple of days!

I found the prettiest crane (not shown but I’ll be revealing soon) with a gold glitter crown at a local boutique last week and it gave me an idea.  I wanted two swans on either end of my mantel, sitting on mercury glass candlesticks.  Swans are so pretty and regal, elegant and graceful.  They were the perfect way to start this mantel.

I added my 3M hooks along the front of my mantel for my stockings and separate ones for my garland.  After a few hours of letting them set and adhere, I added my garland and stocking to the correct hooks.

These fun snowflake stands (found them a couple years ago at Hobby Lobby) seemed like the perfect thing to place on the inside of the swans on my mantel.

Then I started placing all my pretty glittered Christmas magnolia stems, white glitter berry stems, faux fur pom poms, blush Christmas floral stems, blush feathers, sparkly white Christmas stems, sparkly snowflake picks, and other sparkly ornaments.

 

We’ve had the snowflake stockings for a few years but 2 years ago I added faux fur to the cuff and loved it.  This year I added cute dusty blue velvet bows and ribbon to each stocking to tie in the dusty blue.

I love it.  It’s removable and just a fun accessory.

Then for the fun part!  I also found this pretty gold glitter star garland at a local boutique and hung it from my faux pine garland.

I went into my craft room and grabbed old chandelier prism strands and also a couple yards of rhinestone trim and hung them, overlapping the other garlands, across the bottom of the front as well.

Then, I attached them with small ornament hooks.  There were a handful of acrylic gem ornaments left over from other trees so I hung them in between the garlands to dangle.

This is how it looks with the lights off.

And with the lights on!  Fun, right?!  The kids are in love!  Once you see it with the rest of the room and kitchen and dining area, you’ll see how it all comes together.  It’s like a little bit of magic in our home!
