<p style="text-align: center;">1) I love this <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Chopstir-Food-Ground-Meat-Chopper/dp/B000I1Y52A/ref=pd_sim_k_2?ie=UTF8&#038;refRID=0G0DAN3DEBRA4SZBBCB3" rel="nofollow">ChopStir Food and Ground Meat Chopper</a>! It chops ground beef finely for pastas, tacos, etc. It&#8217;s also great for mashing avocados when making guacamole or when making scrambled eggs.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11009667_10206714577850025_957925546_o.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-475" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11009667_10206714577850025_957925546_o-300x225.jpg" alt="11009667_10206714577850025_957925546_o" width="300" height="225" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11009667_10206714577850025_957925546_o-300x225.jpg 300w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11009667_10206714577850025_957925546_o-600x450.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11009667_10206714577850025_957925546_o.jpg 1024w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a><br />
2) We&#8217;ve had the same pots and pans since we were married over 11 years ago and they have cut marks in them (someone who will no be mentioned has cut grilled chicken while it&#8217;s cooking&#8230;.grrr). And the teflon has worn off and come off. We all know how dangerous that is and with all the cancer research it&#8217;s just a huge no-no to keep it around so we&#8217;ve replaced it with this GreenLife Healthy Ceramic Non-stick 14-piece Cookware set in Turquoise. I&#8217;m sure there are better products on the market, but for $79 and it has the Thermolon ceramic coating, it was a no-brainer.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">3) Cute jars in my kitchen are a must for cookies, candies, dog treats, etc. I found this darling set at Home Goods a while back but just saw them there again last week. Less than $20.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">4) I love these microfiber drying mats! They soak up all the water from drying dishes and also dry quickly. You can throw them in the wash too! Just $6.99 at Home Goods. I&#8217;ve seen them in every store too in the kitchen section.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039432_10206722236441485_193561299_n.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" size-medium wp-image-479 alignleft" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039432_10206722236441485_193561299_n-300x225.jpg" alt="11039432_10206722236441485_193561299_n" width="300" height="225" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039432_10206722236441485_193561299_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039432_10206722236441485_193561299_n-600x450.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039432_10206722236441485_193561299_n.jpg 960w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11005948_10206722108438285_294426379_n.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" size-medium wp-image-471 alignright" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11005948_10206722108438285_294426379_n-225x300.jpg" alt="11005948_10206722108438285_294426379_n" width="225" height="300" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11005948_10206722108438285_294426379_n-225x300.jpg 225w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11005948_10206722108438285_294426379_n-600x800.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11005948_10206722108438285_294426379_n.jpg 720w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a></p>
<p>5) Cake stands! For cookies and cakes and breads&#8230;a MUST! I have over 20 now. Possibly an addiction BUT&#8230;.I use them all regularly and each one is special <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Not only does it serve it&#8217;s purpose, but looks a whole lot cuter in your kitchen than a tupperware filled with cookies!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-468" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_-300x300.jpg" alt="8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_" width="300" height="300" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_-300x300.jpg 300w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_-100x100.jpg 100w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_-600x600.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_-150x150.jpg 150w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/8161xVvB2XS._AA1500_.jpg 1024w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a>6) My <a href="http://www.kitchenaid.com/shop/countertop-appliances-1/countertop-appliances-2/stand-mixers-3/-[KSM155GBCA]-400123/KSM155GBCA/">Kitchenaid Mixer</a>&#8230;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I waited until I&#8217;d been married 10 years to finally deciding I really needed one. First, the color (Ocean Blue), is reason enough to get it. It&#8217;s sooo cute!! Second, it has made baking so much easier and more fun! Why did I think it wasn&#8217;t essential all these years????</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/10859616_10206722108078276_1494278867_n.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-469" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/10859616_10206722108078276_1494278867_n-225x300.jpg" alt="10859616_10206722108078276_1494278867_n" width="225" height="300" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/10859616_10206722108078276_1494278867_n-225x300.jpg 225w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/10859616_10206722108078276_1494278867_n-600x800.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/10859616_10206722108078276_1494278867_n.jpg 720w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">7) My &#8220;<a href="http://www.kirklands.com/product/Natural-Wood-Mail-Organizer-and-Calendar/180909.uts">Station of Organization</a>&#8220;! Found it at Kirklands for $17.99 and I love that it holds my mail, coupons, To-Do lists and also displays the date.</p>

Also comes in this other style with the bird and bracket frame. Sometimes it will hold quotes, family goals, notes to each other or reminders. It&#8217;s so versatile and we use either chalk or chalk pens on it and it wipes right off! I&#8217;ve had it on there for 4 years and it&#8217;s as good as new.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">9) Love this aqua Colander that&#8217;s hands-free and clips on the sink. They no longer have this exact one at Target, but a similar one <a href="http://www.target.com/p/joseph-joseph-square-colander-white-medium/-/A-16818986?lnk=Rec|pdp|viewed_viewed|pdpv1">here.</a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/img30c.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-489" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/img30c-300x240.jpg" alt="img30c" width="300" height="240" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/img30c-300x240.jpg 300w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/img30c.jpg 574w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">10) High-quality hand towels.   I&#8217;ve been a fan  of  these <a href="http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/williams-sonoma-striped-towels/?pkey=e%7Chand%2Btowels%7C126%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C1&#038;cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules">Striped Williams-Sonoma Hand Towels</a> for years and they are $20 for a set of 4 and come in a variety of colors.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11041410_10206722232361383_1769272844_n.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-484" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11041410_10206722232361383_1769272844_n-225x300.jpg" alt="11041410_10206722232361383_1769272844_n" width="225" height="300" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11041410_10206722232361383_1769272844_n-225x300.jpg 225w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11041410_10206722232361383_1769272844_n-600x800.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11041410_10206722232361383_1769272844_n.jpg 720w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">11) Speaking of Williams-Sonoma&#8230;.Can&#8217;t live without this set of<a href="http://www.williams-sonoma.com/shop/gifts/gift-sets/?"> Hand Lotion/Dish Soap/Hand Soap trio</a>! My favorite scent, White Tea, has been discontinued but they have lots of new and classic scents that I also love. And they also match my white/khaki/aqua kitchen. It can be a bit pricey so go and find them at the WS Outlet store and save money. And buy the refills! This also makes a great house-warming gift.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039486_10206722376204979_1214592784_n.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-480" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039486_10206722376204979_1214592784_n-300x157.jpg" alt="11039486_10206722376204979_1214592784_n" width="300" height="157" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039486_10206722376204979_1214592784_n-300x157.jpg 300w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039486_10206722376204979_1214592784_n-600x314.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11039486_10206722376204979_1214592784_n.jpg 960w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">12) Cute mixing bowls are a must for me! They just make me smile <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Especially when I&#8217;m baking/dancing/singing in the kitchen&#8230;It&#8217;s just more fun to have cute mixing bowls too! I found these at Ross for $20-ish altogether.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11040033_10206722540449085_1919850318_n.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-482" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11040033_10206722540449085_1919850318_n-225x300.jpg" alt="11040033_10206722540449085_1919850318_n" width="225" height="300" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11040033_10206722540449085_1919850318_n-225x300.jpg 225w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11040033_10206722540449085_1919850318_n-600x800.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11040033_10206722540449085_1919850318_n.jpg 720w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">13) I purchased this memo board at Hobby Lobby but they can also be found at <a href="http://www.ballarddesigns.com/madison-corkboard/316977">Ballard Designs online</a>, if you don&#8217;t have a Hobby Lobby. This holds our family calendar, invitations, kids&#8217; art work, grocery lists, cards in the mail and other important things. I definitely can&#8217;t live without this!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/130c1ea515c7457dba80857a4ae01e53.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-491" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/130c1ea515c7457dba80857a4ae01e53-200x300.jpg" alt="130c1ea515c7457dba80857a4ae01e53" width="200" height="300" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/130c1ea515c7457dba80857a4ae01e53-200x300.jpg 200w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/130c1ea515c7457dba80857a4ae01e53.jpg 236w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">14) Cute aprons also make being in the kitchen more fun AND protect your clothing while cooking or baking. My dear friend got this for me from <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/pdp/detail.jsp?&#038;id=25126236#/">Anthropologie</a> as part of my birthday gift this last year and it&#8217;s definitely my new fave!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11045793_10206714559249560_189461073_o.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-485" src="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11045793_10206714559249560_189461073_o-300x225.jpg" alt="11045793_10206714559249560_189461073_o" width="300" height="225" srcset="https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11045793_10206714559249560_189461073_o-300x225.jpg 300w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11045793_10206714559249560_189461073_o-600x450.jpg 600w, https://summeradams.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/11045793_10206714559249560_189461073_o.jpg 1024w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">***Alright&#8230;we&#8217;re nearing the end of my list. Here are the last of my must-haves!***<br />
15) This <a href="http://www.amazon.com/OXO-Multi-purpose-stainless-scraper-chopper/dp/B00004OCNJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1425792774&#038;sr=8-1&#038;keywords=scraper" rel="nofollow">Scraper/Chopper</a>! Great for many things but it&#8217;s absolutely necessary to have this and spray it with non-stick cooking spray when I go to cut Rice Krispie Treats or Brownies or Lemon Bars etc.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">16) This <a href="http://www.pamperedchef.com/shop/Cook%27s+Tools/Mini-Serving+Spatula/2622">Pampered Chef Mini Serving Spatula</a> is the perfect size when serving the above mentioned treats! I&#8217;ve bought a dozen over the years because people love to &#8220;borrow&#8221; (or steal them) from me ;-p Don&#8217;t blame them! They&#8217;re awesome!!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">17) Mini spatula/spoonula like this one <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-beechwood-mini-spatula-asst/-/A-16299461#prodSlot=medium_1_1&#038;term=mini+spatula">here</a> from Target are great, especially when getting around the edges of my Kitchenaid Mixing Bowl (above).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">18) I&#8217;ll never go back to a non-silicone pastry/basting brush again! These <a href="http://www.target.com/p/bastng-brush-silicone-basting-brush/-/A-14771866#prodSlot=medium_1_5&#038;term=silicone+pastry+brush">silicone brushes</a> are so much better and easier to clean. AND&#8230;.no brush hair on your rolls!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">19) As a newlywed years ago, I learned from watching The Food Network that I absolutely had to have a Santoku knife for chopping. So&#8230;I got one. Love this <a href="http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-Stainless-Forged-Santoku-2-Inch/dp/B00AFZ087A" rel="nofollow">KitchenAid Santoku</a> and am happy to say that I can chop an onion like Rachael Ray ;-P Ok&#8230;maybe not quite like her but I&#8217;m pretty good. You gotta have the right knife though! This is the one! But hey, I&#8217;m not just a chopping pro, I also read up on taking proper care of knives by going through <a href="https://gosharpening.com/blog/">GoSharpening blog</a> and similar resources. One cannot be too prepared when it comes to kitchen gadgets! </p>
<p style="text-align: center;">20) Lastly, I love a good spatula to flip pancakes and tortillas etc. This cute heart one (similar one found <a href="http://www.amazon.com/STAINLESS-STEEL-HOLIDAY-THEMED-SPATULAS/dp/B0076ON3H0/ref=sr_1_7?s=home-garden&#038;ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1425793941&#038;sr=1-7&#038;keywords=heart+spatula" rel="nofollow">here</a>) I found at Nordstrom Rack on clearance for $6 after Valentine&#8217;s Day. It&#8217;s darling and works great!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Ok&#8230;..<strong>tell me</strong>!!!! What do<em> YOU</em> have in your kitchen that you can <em>NOT</em> live without??? I want to know! Leave a comment below <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>

Our 5th &#8220;Countdown to Halloween: Frightfully Fun Family Movie Night&#8221; presents&#8230;&#8221;The Addams Family&#8221; (snap snap)!  I make my spiderweb sugar cookies every year and tonight it was perfect for this movie and for our black and white theme!</p>
<p>Soft Sugar Cookie Recipe (amaaaaazing!!!)</p>
<p>1 cup butter, at room temp<br />
1 3/4 cup sugar<br />
2 eggs, at room temp<br />
1 tsp vanilla<br />
1 cup sour cream<br />
1/4 tsp lemon or almond extract<br />
5 1/2 cup flour<br />
1 tsp baking powder<br />
1 1/2 tsp baking soda<br />
1/2 tsp salt</p>
<p>In a large bowl mix together butter and sugar. Beat until creamy. Add in eggs, vanilla, lemon extract (or almond extract) and sour cream and mix together until combined.<br />
In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix just until combined.<br />
Split dough in two and place in saran wrap. Refrigerate dough for 1-2 hours.<br />
Once dough has been chilled, roll out dough on a bakers mat or parchment paper. Add another 1/4 &#8211; 1/2 cup flour if dough is still sticky. Cut with floured cookie cutter.<br />
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes.  *I&#8217;ve noticed that with my gas oven, I have to adjust my time.  So I bake mine 2 minutes less.</p>
<p>Easy Icing:</p>
<p>1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar<br />
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract<br />
1 teaspoon light corn syrup<br />
2 &#8211; 2.5 Tablespoons lukewarm water<br />
pinch of salt</p>
<p>Spread white easy icing on one cookie at a time.  As soon as you&#8217;ve applied that, take a black tube of store-bought decorating icing and make a spiral shape on top of the cookie.  Then I grab a butter knife and flip it over to use the smooth end and drag from the center end of the spiral and drag 5 lines out to the edge of the cookie.  And there is your beautiful and delicious spider web cookie!  I like to add fake spider toys and spider rings to the plate of cookies for extra gasps from the kids.  It&#8217;s the perfect touch!</p>

Our 4th &#8220;Countdown to Halloween: Frightfully Fun Family Night&#8221; presents&#8230;&#8221;Girl vs. Monster&#8221;. I made Ooey Gooey Monster Eye Cookies and they were soooooo yummy!! {Warning: if your kids suggest this movie, RUN!! It bored me to tears but they loved it…so I suffered through it ha!)  Does anyone notice an ongoing theme for Beckham??  Like most little boys, he LOVES to be in his skivvies <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" />  He walks in the door and gets comfy.  Underwear all day, e&#8217;ry day haha</p>
<p>Ooey Gooey Monster Eye Cookie Recipe:<br />
1 Yellow Cake Mix Box<br />
½ cup butter softened<br />
½ tsp. vanilla<br />
(1) 8 oz. bar cream cheese softened<br />
1 egg<br />
green and yellow food coloring<br />
powdered sugar<br />
candy eyeballs</p>
<p>Beat butter, vanilla, egg and cream cheese until fluffy.<br />
Mix in cake mix. Add green and yellow food coloring until it&#8217;s the color you want (I used equal parts). Chill for 30 minutes.</p>
<p>Roll into balls and dip in a bowl of powdered sugar.<br />
Bake at 350 for 8 minutes. While cookie is still warm, push candy eye balls into the center of the cookie. ENJOY!</p>
