Hello friends! It’s time for another fun hop with some of my favorite blogger friends and this time our good friend Alicia from A Burst of Beautiful is hosting our Summer Tablescape Tour today! Are you ready? I know I am! Get ready to pin away because I’ve seen the sneak peek and my friends never disappoint! I’m sharing my French Lavender Tablescape for a soft summer night, that I put together for my little family of four. It’s simple and special and it doesn’t call for a special occasion!

Straight from a Paris flea market
This tablescape all started with a trip to a vintage fair that my friend was participating in and I found these babies…
Antique French Lavender Transferware Plates
The vendor had been to Paris, France the summer before and found them and brought them home with a ton of other fun finds to sell. I bought all 6 but just need 4 of them for our family place settings here. Think of all the French dinners these plates have served! Oh….the stories they could tell! I’m dying to know them all!
For the love of purple
To be honest, I’ve never loved purple until lately. Brooklyn, my 13 year-old, and I had just been to the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens near us and fallen in love. We decided to wear shades of purple dresses and have some fun. It was gorgeous. How can you not love purple after that?!
I’d also been cutting and bringing in a ton of beautiful lilacs, as they’re growing everywhere here in the Pacific Northwest this spring and just now saying good-bye to them as summer approaches. It’s become a purple love affair over here and I didn’t see it coming at all!!!! And I’m liking it!
Besides finding the antique plates at the previously mentioned vintage fair, I also found the darling purple vintage apron pictured above. I have a small collection of vintage aprons so that was a really fun find.
Anyway….This purple tablescape was meant to be. It was time and I’d never done one before but it had to be subtle and simple. No chargers this time, ha!
French Lavender Tablescape For a Soft Summer Night
By the time I put this table together, my last bunch of lilacs had died and none of them on the trees looked good enough to bring in so I went to Trader Joe’s and look what they had! These purple “Double Peony Tulips”. Have you every heard of them? I have them mixed with regular purple tulips so they’d be the fuller ones like this one blooming on the bottom.
They were just precious and thought they’d be adorable, in a few different shades of purple like I have on the table. They’re also that perfect transition from spring into summer, just like tulips are to peonies.
I mixed a few of my favorite vintage pieces, like my gold flatware and milk glass vase, with newer pieces and decor. I’ll have these things linked at the end of the post for you.
These pretty drinks are also delicious and they come in all different colors and flavors which make it fun for using on tablescapes!
Don’t wait for a special occasion to set a nice table for your family! There are only 4 of us so it doesn’t take long. When we have longer days in the summer, I like to take a few extra minutes, inside or outside, and set an extra pretty table for my family.
They love it and I think it’s important to teach my daughter how to create tablescapes, just as I learned from my mom. The boys clean up AND I find that we stick around the table and talk a little longer. I’ll take that! This time we have together is too precious and a mama has to get creative, right?!
Beeteedubs…I’m really loving lavender now! I found the cutest top, as seen in this pic above and I’m linking it below!
But let it be known!!!! I’m not cheating on pink!!!! HA!! I’m still loyal and it’s still my favorite! My birthday is in June and on National Pink Day so stay tuned for that because it’s gonna be a FUN one!!!!

Well, you know how much I LOVE pale purples and lavender – welcome to the dark side my friend, haha! Seriously, these colors are so gorgeous and I’m loving that you used them! They fit your aesthetic so much and don’t take away from your love of pink at all! (And the plates are SO pretty!! What a good score!)
Happy Early Summer to you my friend!

Summer, I love this lavender inspired post.
Lavender is one of my favorite colors! The French floral plates are divine. Families lingering at the dinner table is always a good thing! ๐

Summer, your lavender tablescape is just dreamy! What special plates, I’m sure they have many stories to tell as you mentioned, and that you will create lots of new memories with them as well. Thanks for the summery inspiration!
