I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….a true friend shares a good find with another!  I love that my best friend and I text each other pictures of things we absolutely love and tell the other friend that she has to have it!  So I do the same for you all here on my Current Crushes posts.  These are some of my latest crushes, from fancy fun things to home decor.

First things first….this tumbler!!!!  I found it HERE and it has taken my Instagram messages and stories by storm! (You’ll want the awesome gold aluminum straws HERE that come with a cleaner.)  The lady who makes these tumblers has been swamped with all your orders but she’s loving it so just put in your orders and be patient because she’s cranking them out as fast as possible.  The quality is fabulous and they are so gorgeous and glitter and sparkly!  I never thought I’d put my cute pink Yeti back in the cupboard but it doesn’t hold a candle to this one.  I get stopped EVERYWHERE I go because people want to know where I found this beauty!

Might I add, it would make the perfect Mothers’ Day gift so you better order NOW to get it in time!

Again, you’ll see that tumbler in every pic almost because it’s my favorite thing right now!  The Tarte concealer is life-changing!!! Especially underneath your eyes. You’ll never go back.  The Too-Faced Chocolate Bronzer is the best and it smells and even tastes (the dust) like chocolate.  I kid you not.  The Givenchy base coat goes on your eyelashes and then you put on your mascara and it makes your eyelashes so thick and gorgeous.  People ask if I have extension but I do not. One of my fave perfumes is this Tory Burch and of course, I love her sandals too!  Sharing cute jewelry I found lately (can’t find the exact bee necklace on line so I’m linking one close) and then this is one of my favorite totes!  I love a monogram on anything and I get asked about this one a lot.  I got it last year but just brought it out again so it’s my “current crush” again.

Transparent bags are all the rage this year! This was is NOT $300 like some! Nope, it’s actually under $30! I love it.  Some other goodies here, as well as my favorite pens!  I have dozens that I keep throughout my home, handbags and office.  They make great gifts too!

Whether you have a glamorous walk-in closet or you don’t, whether you’re a fashion blogger with cute shelves or not, whether you you’re a boutique owner and need an earring display or you’re not, this acrylic earring display is just so cute that I’m sure we can all think of an excuse to get one because it’s such a good price.  That way, we can display our favorite spring and summer earrings.  You might need 2 or 3 or more (as I do).  Then we can see what we actually have.

I’ve shared Pretty You London slippers before and you know they’re my favorite!!! They are literally the prettiest slippers I’ve seen on the market.  These cream Anya slippers would be perfect for a Mothers’ Day gift and especially for any brides this spring and summer!  They’re a MUST!  I’m pictured wearing them here on our guest bed and I’m kinda thinking they’d make the perfect gift for very special guests, too, when they come to stay.  Wouldn’t that be so sweet to have for them?!

Again, if you saw my Instagram stories, you know how obsessed I am with these blush pink plates!!!  Why?  Not just because of the obvious fact that they’re blush BUT because I use them for my personal large dinner chicken salads (just for me) that I make throughout the week because the salad doesn’t just slide right off the plate.  Especially when you’re being naughty and eating in bed and you can hold it up against your chest and the salad dressing and salad doesn’t get on your shirt hahaha!  It’s genius, I think.  They’re called “soup plates“.  Seriously perfect for salads though and so many of my Instagram followers loved the idea as well and went to buy a bunch as well.

But I’m obsessed with my new iWatch and this cute inexpensive leopard band.  Also digging these 2 new lipsticks for the spring and summer.  The MAC is a special so hurry and get it!  And this upcycled Louis Vuitton leather tassel keychain.  So cute, right?!

Once upon a time, in a public place, my purse tipped over and everything fell out.  That “everything” would include lipsticks, receipts, medications, my cell phone (which resulted in a cracked screen), coins, wrappers, kids’ toys, feminine products (face palm), every stick of gum, and the list goes on.  It was embarrassing and I’m sure it’s happened to you, too.  Am I right?  Fast forward about 8 years and someone in church next to me commented on how organized and pretty the inside of my purse was, as they watched me reach down to grab us a couple of sticks of gum. My flashback of the first shared experience came into my mind and I laughed to myself.  I’d arrived…ha!  So today I’m sharing with you what every girl needs to know: How to organize and maintain the prettiest purse.

I own some very specific essentials that one must have.  They’re not only pretty but they’ll keep everything in its place.

Pretty Essentials Every Girl Needs For Her Purse

First, you need a wallet that holds everything well.

Make sure you have enough spots for all your credit cards, cash, coins, store loyalty cards, and stamp cards.

Go through all your stamp cards and toss the ones you never ever use.

Then go through your loyalty cards and decide if you need them or not.  If they are all registered with your phone number (and most of them are) just toss them!  You can use your phone number instead when you check out and then you’re carrying less bulk in your wallet.

My latest wallet was a very important purchase!  We’ve had some serious credit card fraud lately (it had to have happened locally) and I’m not sure if it came from using my credit card at the gas pump or from someone walking by me with their card reader and snatching my card number.  So  I found this one and it has SafeKeeper that will protect your credit card numbers from being scanned and saved by any fraudulent devices.

Here are a few different wallets I love:

Second, a small cosmetic bag or pouch is perfect for carrying cosmetics, a roller ball perfume, and my favorite pink nail polish for an emergency.

I also keep a small pill box in there of pills that I need to take during the day, when I’m out and about.

Third, a small water bottle is essential!

You don’t want one that’s too heavy to carry in your purse or that can crack and leak all over everything.

This one holds just 12 ounces and has a silicone sleeve so that it doesn’t “sweat” all over the other items inside my purse.  If I need to take a pill or I’m thirsty from shopping, I have my water.  Do you see the cute  little bows on it and the “drink me” on the side?  It’s so “Alice In Wonderland”, right?!  I adore it.

Fourth, this gorgeous small pouch is another essential for your purse and staying organized.

For some, this might hold receipts or snacks or sunglasses or band-aids, or pen and paper.  But this is what I keep inside…

I keep 4 different flavors of gum in mine (all 4 of us in our family like a different flavor hahaha).

I also keep a protein bar in there, post it notes, and a pen.  Pouches carry all of those loose things that you would otherwise through in to your purse and end up at the bottom all crumpled.

Fifth, my cell phone with a shatterproof case.  Do you notice a theme here?  I love blush pink.  It’s important to be organized but it’s even better for all of it to be pretty!  Who said the inside of your purse can’t be as pretty as the outside???

Here are some pretty cases:

Sixth…a great keychain is essential for staying organized.  There’s nothing worse than throwing your keys into your purse, or “The Black Hole” (as my husband calls it), and not being able to find them when you need them.  Even more embarrassing is taking everything out, one by one, in order to find them.  Been there, done that.

This cute pink leather tassel with a rhinestone pineapple was a keychain that I recently purchased at The Royal Hawaiian when we were in Hawaii last month.  You just toss your keys on the inside and hang the other part on the outside.  So it’s stylish and it also stays put.  Then I can grab my keys when I’m ready.  No digging or unhooking.  Brilliant, right?!  I love it so much.

And that’s how it looks inside.  My sunglasses go in the side zipper pouch and my phone goes in one of the pockets.  It’s clean, everything fits, I can find anything I need quickly, and guess what…it stays pretty light.

*Update: Right after I posted this, I realized I’d left out one more small blush pink pouch.  It has a small pen, mini note pad, small tape measure (very important to have on me at all times), and a protein bar.*

You might look at this and think it’s heavy but it’s not.  I have shoulder issues and can’t carry a heavy purse.

Without your purse being clean and organized, you’d be surprised how heavy it gets.  You tend to just throw anything and everything into it.  And before you know it, you’re me eight years ago and frantically picking up all of your embarrassing contents off the floor in front of strangers and throwing it all back into your purse.

So treat yourself to some organization!

And treat yourself to a pretty purse with pretty essentials for organizing everything that should go inside.

September is here!  For many of you, depending on where you live, you are starting to see temperatures start to drop a little.  Ok, maybe not if you’re here in The South, but still…cooler temps are right around the corner.  You know what that means!  Time to pull out the scarves, boots, wool hats and changing your handbags.  If you visited my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post here this summer, you probably found lots of goodies!  Today I’m going to share with you some of my favorite fall handbags of 2016.  Oh, and I added a few fabulous wallets too!

As much as I love my aqua Kate Spade handbag and other fun, bright-colored handbags, it’s time to put them back in your closet.  Bring out the greys, wines, blacks and other fall-colored bags.  It seems these stylish handbags below are all on trend this fall.  I don’t switch out my handbag every day like I did when I was younger, but I get really bored with the same handbag if I carry it too long.

I love that blush and white is still “acceptable” for the fall.  Winter white is the tone you should use when choosing fall handbags and not a stark, summery white.  A pretty camel bag is a staple in my fall handbags.

You can still use bold colors.  Try like royal blue, reds and wines, greens and even muted tones. This year, a bold splash of color is definitely on trend amongst the designers.

Some years I am NOT in shape and I absolutely dread getting in a swimsuit. And other years I’m feeling pretty good about my health/fitness routine and don’t mind it at all. But whether we love or loathe how we look in those swimsuits, these darling pieces are too cute to resist!  My absolute favorite is this one HERE!  The Asos Leaf Print Swimsuit went in my shopping cart in about one second after finding it online.  I love how my {baby} sister chose the 2-piece version HERE and even mixed it with one of her hot pink swim tops.  We are 10 years apart but love a lot of the same things.  So fun that we could be “twinning” but not identical.  Did I mention they also make a matching sundress?  I die!

As we get older, we care more and more about protecting our face from the sun. I love these adorable sunhats and have them all! A different hat for a different suit.

Don’t head off to the beach without a beach bag, insulated cooler and my new favorite thing ever….my Yeti 30oz Rambler! My ice keeps cold all day and I just keep adding water for an ice cold drink.

Every day in Hawaii, I would shower and then use this Strivectin UV Protective Spray and run out the door. Not only did it protect my hair from the sun, but it have my hair that perfect beachy hair look and texture. I’ll never go a summer without it, after discovering it, and their fabulous new line of shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair. I’m so glad they came out with hair products as good as their skincare! I highly recommend getting them all!

This might be a good time to tell you about the deodorant I fell in-love with years ago. I know what you’re thinking…but this deodorant is just as good as perfume. I kid you NOT! When people walk by me at the gym, they will ask me what I’m wearing and yes…it is this Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant!  Warning...you will be wanting to smell your own armpits, it's THAT good LOL! I even know of a love story that came from a guy liking the way this girl smelled and asked her what it was (this deodorant) and anyway...they're now married. You're welcome! ;-) Of course, don't forget my favorite sunscreen by The Honest Co. Get a great bronzed tan with my all-time favorite Maui Babe as well as the Maui Babe After Browning Lotion Tan Enhancer & Healer.


Time to change out your phone case!  How cute are these?!!! And I’ve linked a portable phone charger as well. There may not be an outlet where you are at.

There are some essentials at the beach and pool you just need. A cute beach towel, a blanket, speakers for music, a wagon if you have to hike in from your car, and an umbrella is always a good idea when you need a little break from the scorching sun! Look at this pink striped umbrella!!! I just ordered it for our beachhouse trip coming up.

Is it your turn to throw a pool party? Don’t forget to buy some fun pool floats and don’t forget some adorable poolside items to entertain with!

I don’t wear a full face of makeup every day during the summer and I don’t always wear makeup when I go to the beach or pool. But if I’m talking essentials or if there are a few things I must wear at a pool party, it would be my Shiseido UV Foundation, IT Makeup Concealer, NYX Micro Brow Pencil with Waterproof Gel (amaaaazing!) so that I have eyebrows, and my all-time favorite Illegal Lengths Waterproof Mascara. You could do some or all of these. I always like a pink cheek by using MAC “Whole Lotta Love” blush and my new favorite summer lipstick….”Chatterbox” by MAC.

Raise your hand if you’re guilty of singing Christmas tunes in your head already?  (I’m raising my hand!)  I’m soooo excited for the holidays, I can hardly wait!  Anyways, I was singing “My Favorite Things” which is on a few of my favorite Christmas albums (and of course, The Sound of Music).  I got to thinking….wouldn’t it be fun to share a few of my favorite things on a monthly basis?  Here are my favorites for October!

How fun is this Betsey Johnson “Oh Bow” Satchel for the holidays?!!  It’s a gorgeous “stone” color with a metallic look of the gold/silver mix of sequins.  It may not be your “every day” bag, but definitely fun for nights out. I put it on my arm at Dillard’s tonight.  Sleeping on it because I’ve got to choose between that one and one other fun one but I need to see the other in person first.  I’ll have to let you know what I decide on!

As fas as an “every day” bag is concerned….I’ve fallen in love with this one from Michael Kors. It’s the Hamilton in Ecru/DarkTaupe and such a perfect bag for this fall/winter season.

After going home to California and helping with my BFF’s baby shower last weekend, she gave me 2 fun gifts that I just LOVE!  First, she knows I either make my own herbal tea in the mornings or nights (or both) or else I’m driving through Starbucks.  AND we love Kate Spade so this Kate Spade thermal mug was the perfect gift.  It’s so fun to be stylish while drinking my tea  Now….if I could figure out a way to make drinking my Diet Coke just as stylish!  Any ideas out there???

She also gave me this Alex & Ani “Key To My Heart” gold bracelet which was soooo sweet and sentimental!  I’ll keep it forever and ever.  We’ve known each other since we were 12, were roommates in college, and we’re nearing 40 so it’s been many good years of friendship with lots of memories and milestones.  It makes that bracelet even that more special
Ok, before you say “no” to my next favorite, you MUST MUST MUST try it!!!  Mixing candy corn and peanuts TOGETHER is sooooo good!  We bring it out every October and I probably gain 5 lbs just from that alone ha!  Seriously, I don’t even know what it is about it but it’s like a little bit of heaven in your mouth.  Tastes like a Baby Ruth but without the chocolate…and even better!  I don’t care for candy corn alone and not obsessed with peanuts by themselves.  But it’s the combo…Mmmmmmm!!!  A match made in heaven.

Last October, I fell in love with Bath & Body Work’s “Pumpkin Cupcake” scent.  I had it in my  car, I bought a candle for upstairs, and also bought it for my wallflowers.  It was so yummy! I couldn’t wait for it to come back this year and crossed my fingers that it would.  Aaaaand….it did!  Halleluyer!  Even if it’s hotter than Haiti outside, it feels like fall somehow when I bring out that scent.  Mmmm…
My last 2 favorites are a MUST this time of year!  I have a deer obsession, as does most of North America.  At Tres Chic Boutique, my online boutique (shameless plug ha!), I carry this fabulous Gold Glitter Deer Raglan Tshirt and it is a HOT item each year.  I love it with skinny jeans and I love it with leggings and my Hunter Boots on a rainy day.  It’s light and soft and comfy.  Every girl needs one!!
Also, this Deer Silhouette Sign!!!  Isn’t it great?!!!  And it just has the slightest touch of glitter that you can only see when the light hits it. Rustic AND chic.  It’s perfect year-round or just during Fall/Winter, if you prefer.

OR, get it with the saying “Love Me Like You Love Deer Season” LOL!!!  This is such a favorite that gets ordered over and over and over.  Too many women can relate ;-p Haha!

I love August!  My skin is tanner and while I don’t bake out in the sun with baby oil (stupid stupid stupid) like my teenage years, my skin looks sun-kissed and I feel like putting on bold and bright colors.  I love this fun “Barbie Pink” color, as I call it.  I put this shirt on and headed to San Francisco for a couple of days with my kiddos to show them the city that I loved to play in as a kid.  Soooo many great memories!  Wearing a few of my new favorite things so I thought I’d share!

I purchased the shirt from Old Navy and it’s the perfect light-weight cotton button-up shirt so that I could keep cool.  The lipstick is one of my all-time faves by MAC called “St. Germain”.  I only wear it in the summer when I have some color  My earrings were gifted to me by Heather, my very best friend, and are the Kate Spade Multi-color Irradescant Faceted Square Stud Earrings.  Ummm…can I tell you how obsessed I am with them?!!!  They are soooo sparkly, which you don’t see in the picture, and look fabulous with so many of my bright shirts.    Of course, I still love my Juicy Couture Crown Gold Chain Necklace from my friends as a going away gift when we left Texas.  I have the matching bracelet and they are such a fun staple in my wardrobe.  This Dutch Braid across my forehead was the perfect way to keep my hair out of my face in that windy city, while riding bikes cable cars up and down the steep roads.

As for the rest of my makeup…I have found some new favorites that have been life-changing!! I’m not exaggerating.  While the summer allows me the chance to be more bronzed, my white spots on my face come out of hibernation and are noticable.  Sun damage.  It’s an ugly thing. And turning 37 this summer has introduced some new fine lines.  Fun stuff {insert sarcasm}.  But my sister convinced me, after working for Shiseido many years, that the Japanese know skin care better than anyone and I needed to try their products.  So I finally I purchased their water-resistant foundation and WOW!  I was already sold after that.  But it gets better…. Then I applied the pressed powder and I looked almost flawless. Make sure to use the wedges to apply the powder because it s you the best coverage when applied.  Dab it on. Their new concealer is like a magic wand!  I dab it on the white spots on my face where I’ve lost  The melanin in my skin where I have lost my melanin.   I follow it up with dad being the foundation sponge just over those spots again, as to not caking on too much powder.   I’m telling you… It’s like magic!  The best coverage I’ve had in a long time!

Now,  their skin care is out of this world and worth every penny so I highly recommending starting with that. They also introduced a new ice year and just recently that has made all the difference for me. Between my age and moving to Las Vegas last year where it is very dry, I feel like my eyes  are full of fine lines that I have not seen before and need the moisture so badly. I have not found an eye serum or cream that I have loved until now.  There eye serum feels like velvet and just hydrates and feels heavenly.   Their facial serum is also to die for.   Again, worth every penny!   Even if you love what you are using now, it’s probably not that great for your skin. Just because it has good coverage doesn’t mean it’s good for your skin. But Shiseido is a product that will give you both good skin and good coverage.  (NOTE:   Shiseido is not sponsoring or paying me to write this article. My all-time favorite eyebrow kit is the Anastasia Dip Brow (blonde) with the brow powder.  Love it!!  Especially since my eyebrows no longer grow and I have to fill them in and create the shape each day.

On Sundays I get dressed up and ready for church.  I also get dressed up for date nights.  And maybe another day during the week if I have lunch with friends or something planned. Otherwise…I’m in some kind of tshirt and denim, for the most part.  That being said, I try to make a casual or comfy or plain outfit less “drab” and more “fab” by doing the following:

1 – Fun lipstick!  Nude lipsticks are my most favorite and shades that I typically feel most comfortable in.  However, putting on some bright red or bright pink or coral lipstick can make you feel like a million bucks in 2 seconds.  If it is scary for you at first and if you feel like it’s too much, try going easy on your eye makeup so that it doesn’t look over-done.  Click HERE for great looks on how to balance eye makeup with bold lipstick.  My faves are “St. Germain” by MAC and the one I’m wearing in the first pic above called “Razzle” Butter Liptstick by NYX.

2 – Fabulous jewelry!  Of course, my favorite jewelry is from Tres Chic Boutique.  I love throwing on a bold statement necklace and bracelet with a white tshirt and jeans.  It’s amazing how different you feel about yourself when you put on fabulous accessories.  I love the pieces shown above.  You can find them HERE and HERE.  I wore them to the park with my kids one day during Spring Break.  Simple, comfy, easy BUT fabulous!

So put your hair in a messy chignon (fancy for “bun”) or a side braid or loose beach-wave curls….it doesn’t matter.  But you don’t have to look like a tired mom just because you might feel like one!  And again, how you feel determines how you treat other people (on the inside AND on the outside) and you might even flirt a little more with your husband if you feel sexy!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned to love, it’s a chic jumpsuit.  Not everyone can pull it off and not everyone has the body type to wear it.  But how gorgeous does my model (a.k.a. Amber, my sister) look in this tailored black jumpsuit from Target? She found it on clearance recently for $7 and paired it with this gorgeous ivory blazer from H&M.  Amber knows how to find a deal…she also scored these gorgeous leopard pumps at J.Crew Factory for only $42.

While back at home in California last week, I helped style my sister for an event she was attending.  This is what she wore and all we needed to decide on was the jewelry.  

We loved the Tortoise Shell Statement Necklace paired with the Gold Leopard Buckle Bracelet  and rhinestone bracelet!  It looked perfect with her outfit.

However, if you like to be a little less matchy-matchy, you can always go another direction.  We also tried this other gorgeous Emerald & Taupe Statement Necklace and Rhinestone Pavé Link Bracelet.  Both options are stunning!
