One of the questions I get asked most is, “Does your husband care that you have all that pink in the bedroom?”

The answer is, “No. He doesn’t care. As long as it’s not in every single room.”

The truth is, I’ve offered to go blue in here and switch things up (it was cream and white and grey before) and he said it was fine the way it was and really pretty like this.  I’m grateful he appreciates my style and my love for pink.

It’s especially fun at Christmas when I can pull out the pink boxes of decor.  This year I brought my little pink tree up to my room but I didn’t want to decorate it.  I just kept it simple with twinkle lights next to my vanity.

Across my dresser, I added blush and silver/white glass trees and glittery Christmas stems.  These pretty silver sparkly leaf stems were from a local boutique.

Did you see these glitter poinsettia tree clips this year? I added those to my nightstand with more glass trees.

One of my favorite things about this room right now is rolling over in bed and waking up to this cute white tree I bought this year.

I was downtown at my favorite antique store and they had all these cute new and vintage ornaments on a white pencil Christmas tree so I was convinced it would be the cutest things to do in my bedroom and wouldn’t take up too much space.

I grabbed some beautiful blush silk fabric I had from my craft closet and set it around the bottom of the tree with gifts, in place of tree skirt.

I made a velvet bow for the top and grabbed a glitter crown tree topper I had from Hobby Lobby a few years ago.  The antique store I mentioned above, they were selling all these adorable blush faux fur and rose-colored velvet poinsettia tree clips. I also bought some vintage pink and gold ornaments that I couldn’t pass up.  All the other ornaments are just fun that I’ve been buying.  I’ll link them (or similar if not available) below.

My bedding has been on sale (big time right now) and I love it.  It’s so soft and warm and perfect for the winter. Climbing into silk pajamas at night, lights off, Christmas tree lights on…..it doesn’t get better than that! So romantic and calming and it reminds me of my childhood when my mom would put lights up around our window. I loved falling asleep with the lights.

What an exciting week!  Each day I’m sharing a part of my home with you while joining friends in some really fabulous home tours and it has been so much fun to see all of the inspiration that comes from decorating for the holidays! Today I’m participating in the 2019 Holiday Tour of Homes, hosted by my friends Amy & Christy at 11 Magnolia Lane.

I was supposed to be sharing my Glam White & Gold Kitchen with you but, because of a really long story that involved my camera memory card and some tears, I shared my kitchen yesterday in another tour (here) and today I am going to share my Elegant Christmas Entry in Champagne and Spa Blue.

Earlier this year, I received these gorgeous spa blue framed chinoiserie panels and they went beautifully in my entry staircase.

I decided to add spa blue to my Christmas decor this year to compliment and pull out that color from the panels.

It was soooo much harder to find this color ornaments than I thought.  There was baby blue or aqua turquoise colors but spa blue was difficult!  I found the poinsettia picks at Hobby Lobby and the ornaments too but they were in a pack with a lot of bright turquoise ornaments so I had to toss a lot of them in the garbage and just keep the lightest and muted-colored ornaments.

The other ornaments and picks I’ve collected over the years but I’ll link same or similar below in the “shop the post” section.

My 12’ slim flocked pre-lit tree (with LED lights) is the perfect choice instead of a full tree because it would be hard to pass through here. Trust me…they are 3 times as full. It would be crazy. But I make it look fuller by stuffing it and adding lots of stems coming out of it. That’s the trick! It gives it a lot of dimension!

I found this darling sleigh at a boutique years ago and I love putting it in my entry with this cute faux fur large gift sack from Michael’s I found a couple years ago to hold gifts and decor.  I’d like to find some large green garland next year but for now I have this simple frosted green garland (Hobby Lobby) with champagne tinsel ribbon that I made into large double bows.  

I wired them on all the way around the banister and used zip ties for the garland. I’ve done it for a couple of years and it doesn’t ruin the wood at all.

I first introduced my glass trees in last year’s Christmas tour and I had to put them in my entry again this year because I really liked having them here when I walked in the door and so did those that visited our home. The lights twinkle on and off and we all love it as a family.

This cute pillow from HomeGoods had to come home with me.  I knew it would be a darling addition on my entry bench.

I love creating little vignettes and this sweet angel is one of my favorite Christmas pieces that come out each year. Bless her heart…she’s been glued so many times because of kids and nerf footballs and bad packing…ha!  Yet, here she is!

Glam White & Gold Living Room Christmas Tree & Mantel

Last week I shared my Christmas living room on the blog. I kept with my white and gold color scheme from fall since I loved it so much.

Every detail can be found HERE in that tour, including the items I used to decorate this room.

If you’re looking for a great top this holiday season to wear with denim and won’t break the bank, this is it!  It’s only $20 and I love the way it fits!  It doesn’t hurt either that it matches my color scheme I’ve got going on downstairs here. (Bow belt purchased a few years ago.)

Glam White & Gold Christmas Kitchen

 

Last year I tied large pink velvet bows on my pendants in the kitchen because they looked like huge presents to me and it was so fun.  So this year I went even bigger and fancier.  I contacted one of my favorite wholesalers because I didn’t see any retailers selling what I wanted and could envision in my head and my Google searches left me coming up empty.

 

 

 

The other night I shared on my Instagram stories how I took some white roses and green clippings from Trader Joe’s and made some simple, yet elegant, Christmas floral arrangements to put in my kitchen.  It smells so good!  I love the aroma of fresh pine!

 

This is the same ribbon I used on my tree and it is so stunning!  I had to use it to create a beautiful bow on this simple wreath and add it to my pantry.

 

 

 

I was telling everyone on Instagram the other day that if I put out candy around the holidays where I can see it, I want nothing to do with it.  But if I hide it in the pantry, then it becomes a temptation.  Funny, right?! So I have it sprinkled throughout the kitchen for guests.

 

I kept these gold wreaths out from my fall decor as they were perfect for Christmas too! I used 3M hooks on my glass cabinets.

I love adding just a little ribbon to my gold canisters at Christmas time.  They add a festive touch!

 

 

 

 

White & Gold Hot Cocoa Bar Cart

 

 

I always put out a hot cocoa bar cart as soon as it gets cold. The kids and their friends and our guests always love it.  I made this cute banner years ago but have it saved on my computer.  If you’re interested, I’d love to share it in a blog post and offer it as a free download!

 

 

 

White & Gold Christmas Dining Table & Buffet

The one thing I miss having in this house is a formal dining room and I’m dying to build again for that reason alone because I’m one that loves to entertain.  Putting a buffet at the end of our dining area helps it feel more like a dining space and also gives me a perfect space to put my nativity set at Christmas time.  I especially love that it’s just to the side of my “Walking On Water” canvas by Reflections Of Christ.

I found it years ago at a garage sale for $5 when we lived in Waco. It’s in perfect condition and I just love it so much! The reflection in the mirror of my tree here is one of my favorite views from this part of my kitchen.

I wrapped these all around the candle sticks this year and I cut each one in half.

Last year I purchased these little wreaths (you can pull off the darker berries if you wish) and sprayed some faux snow spray, glued some maribou feather, and then glued some mini village ornaments.  This year, I switched the ribbon on top and added some simple gold and white grosgrain ribbon and used the 3M hooks to the back of the chairs to hang them.

One more gold leaf wreath on a cake stand with my angel, glitter Christmas tree candles, and mercury glass votives seemed to be the perfect centerpiece. At night, the votive candle give the angel a beautiful glow.

Glam White & Gold Christmas Tree Ornaments & Ribbon

This pearl ornament was from a local boutique.  I had to have it! They only had one that I saw. Striped ornaments are from HomeGoods.  I have purchased most of my ornaments there or at Macy’s, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby or local boutiques over the years. At the end of the post I’ll have a bunch linked for you!

Velvet poinsettias from HomeGoods a few years ago.  The lovely bow ornament was a DIY Glam Rhinestone Bow Ornament tutorial I shared on the blog last week.  When I too these pics, I didn’t quite have all the ornaments done yet and now I do and they are so cute all on my tree!

Isn’t this the most gorgeous ribbon?! It’s white velvet wired ribbon with rhinestone edging and gold backing. I’m selling it in my online boutique for all of you.  It’s very expensive and a high-end boutique ribbon but it comes on a 5-yard roll. 

That cute dome house was from Target a few years back. I just love it.  And, of course, all of my cute white and gold boxes and wrapping paper are from Target and I just grab gold-toned ribbon and tie big bows on them, adding some little stems here or there. Wanna know a secret about my tree skirt? It’s no skirt at all!  Just a bunch of faux fur pieces of fabric and an old cut up rug bunched together.  It gives more dimension and is bigger that way!

My thick garland I’ve had for years burnt out on me and I was soooo sad BUT it was actually a blessing in disguise because it was so thick that I couldn’t fit all these glass trees on my mantel like I wanted to.

 Instead I purchased this inexpensive garland and added a strand of extra lights and then stuffed it with everything pretty until it looked how I wanted it to.  

The gold star garland came from Walmart, the crystal garland I already had from an old chandelier that I linked all together (but linked the same thing for you below at end of post), gold stems, velvet poinsettias from Hobby Lobby, gold eucalyptus from Pier1, and the little crystal drops were from Hobby Lobby too.  

The stockings have been with us for years now and I added fur trim and hot-glued it across the top (from Hobby Lobby). Can I vent for a minute?  Our closest Hobby Lobby is 45+ min away and it’s the first time we’ve lived somewhere where it hasn’t been around the corner.  Ugh.  But they’re finally putting one in here in Vancouver.  Yay!  Ok…back to the post.

While all my other glass trees in my entry came from Pottery Barn, these ones and the beaded and wooden ones all came from…..you guessed it….HomeGoods!  They had an entire aisle of trees this year.  It was awesome! I turned down it and thought, “These are all coming home with me and going on my mantel!” Ha!  And there is how I got the idea for my mantel.  Just a mini way-condensed version lol!

Glam White & Gold Christmas Coffee Table

I love a pedestal bowl with sparkly ornaments.  This one is from ZGallerie last year.

This is actually soooo much more simple than any other Christmas coffee table I’ve ever done but I’m liking it! Simple but sparkly and glamorous!

When I was a teenager, I performed in a youth group and one of my favorite Christmas songs was the Hallelujah chorus.  It gave me chills every time!

“King of kings, and Lord of lords…”
“…forever, and ever, …Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Hallelujah!!!!!”

Oh gosh, I want to go turn it on right now.  So, that is what inspired me this Christmas for the downstairs decor here.  I wanted to continue with the white and gold like I’d been doing during the fall but add crowns to my decor and make it feel royal and special and white and bright. You’ll see more crowns later in my other spaces.

I added a gold velvet lumbar from HomeGoods to add more of that golden warmth to my sofa. Just what it needed.

Welcome to the second week of the Seasonal Simplicity Christmas Series! Today a group of my blogging friends and I are sharing our DIY Gift Ideas to help inspire you for the upcoming holiday season.  My closest girlfriends are like me. They appreciate pretty things with sparkle and bling.  I love adding special ornaments to gifts at Christmas time.  I made these DIY glam rhinestone bow ornaments and knew I had to share them with all of you on the blog and knew they’d also be the perfect gift idea too!

I’ve always thought that there needed to be someone who made big pretty sparkly ornaments with big bows.  I saw some on Etsy last year but they were really expensive with high shipping prices from Eastern Europe so I knew this year I would just finally sit down and make my own like I’d planned on.

They were so easy and fun.  They just take some patience because there are a few parts.  This is where you make some tea or hot cocoa and turn on some of your favorite Hallmark Christmas movies and craft away.

Supplies:

•Box of ornaments (I chose these matte ivory ornaments. Buy online and pick them up.)
•Double face satin ribbon 7/8″
•Scissors
•Hot Glue Gun
•Tweezers
•Needle and thread
• Small Rhinestone Center (can’t be very heavy, keep it light)
•E-6000 Glue
•Simplicity Gold Apparel Rhinestone Trim (from JoAnn Fabric but this, this, and this could be great alternatives)
•Hand towel doubled over (and then again on the back half) to work on
•Gold Shadow Flatback Swarovski Crystals 34ss
•Clear Flatback Swarovski Crystals 16ss and also 20ss
•Gold ornament hooks

Instructions:

First, cut a desired amount of ribbon to make a double-layered bow. Use your needle and thread to stitch it through the center and wrap around and pull it tight and tie it off. I make them all at once and set aside.

Next (and forgive me but I forgot to photograph this part) cut a small inch of ribbon and fold the outsides toward the center, putting the raw edges in back. Lightly hot glue against the bow and wrap ends around the back of bow and hot glue as well. Then center and hot glue back of bow against silver top of ornament.

Cut piece of rhinestone trim and hot glue from top side of ornament and down the side, center of the bottom, and up the other side until it meets the silver top again.  Make sure it’s pulled tight.

Then, face down, cut a piece of trim and hot glue from the bottom of the center up to the top.

Find the very center, from top to bottom and side to side, and softly put a dot there.

This is where you’ll hot glue your rhinestone gem/bead.

Once the hot glue is dry and you know the center piece won’t shift and slide, use your tweezers to grab the golden flatback crystals and lightly dip them in the E-6000 glue. Carefully place one on the top and bottom of center rhinestone piece. Then add the crystal 20ss size and then the 16ss size on the outer edges of that one.

 

On the sides, you’ll just use the clear crystals, 2 larger and 2 to 3 smaller. Then place one of each in descending order in the corners.

It’s super easy but isn’t that beautiful?!!!!

It looks so pretty hanging on a Christmas tree or sitting by itself in a box.  So here’s the question….

Will you keep them all for yourself or give them away as gifts? Haha!  It’s hard to part with them…they’re soooo pretty!  So do what I do. Make a set to give away, and one to keep!

You can give an entire set to a friend or you can break them up and give a few at a time or even just one in a single box (maybe along with some other gifts too). I’m thinking this would be the most beautiful ornament to bring for an ornament exchange, wouldn’t it?!!  The girls would DIE!!

A couple of weeks ago, I shared my whimsical Christmas living room and mantel and explained that this year I wanted to do something really different.  Instead of just focusing on the classy or glam elements of Christmas decorating, I’d felt so inspired by the new Nutcracker Movie that I wanted to bring an element of fantasy and fun.  My children are 10 and 12 and I love seeing them enjoying the magic of the Christmas season.  I wanted to bring a more whimsical feel to our living room and kitchen this year.

First things first…..You might be noticing some pink bows.  I have walked into my kitchen dozens of times over the past year we have lived here since building this house and have thought, “these pretty pendant lights look like large presents.”  

The only thing they were missing were large pink velvet ribbon bows.  Sounds crazy, right?

Well, I love crazy!  Ha!  Honestly, it sounded like it would go with my whimsical Christmas feel so it was the perfect idea this year.

The kids walked in and absolutely loved it, so I knew I was doing something right.

I even added some pretty pieces of a sparkly champagne-colored garland on the bottom of the pendants to add some more fun.

Just behind these “pretty packages with pink bows”, that are hanging over my kitchen island, is displayed the word “BELIEVE”.  I found this sparkly sign at Michael’s this year.

I love focusing on this word during the Christmas season.  For children, it means believing in Santa or the magic of Christmas.  For Christians, it reminds us to believe in our Savior and all that He has promised those that follow Him. I also think it’s a good reminder to believe that there is still so much good in the world.  We generally see more of that this time of the year as people open their hearts, give more, serve more, and love more. I love that.  We need all the reminders we can get!

I found these sparkly branches a while back and could already imagine them draped along the top of my hood.

Ok, I know I said the kitchen is in pastels, but to me that basically means pink and pink and pink and maybe a couple of other pastel colors too. Ha!  We are constantly baking in the kitchen this time of year and I love having a pretty pink cake stand waiting for fresh cookies to come out of the oven and glasses and a pitcher ready for cold milk to share with friends.

I always have my pink kettle on the stove this time of year for lots of herbal teas to warm us up and to offer guests.

I like to keep this pink ginger jar here with my favorite tea inside and some pretty candles with this fabulous flameless lighter (charged by a usb cable – my new favorite thing lately).

 

I had these pretty hurricanes on my table but moved them over here for a tablescape and decided to keep them here for Christmas.  

I found these lovely candle wreaths with sparkly faux snow at Hobby Lobby and knew they’d be lovely around the bottom of these hurricanes, filled with sparkly gems.

 

My friend Lauren Haskell has such a lovely online store of fabulous home decor and furniture.  She carries these gorgeous pink ginger jars and I use them all over the house but they have made their way to adorn my corner sink area with pretty sparkly Christmas floral stems.

It’s all in the details, right?!  So I added some blush pink satin ribbon and also dusty blue velvet ribbon bows to the top of my kitchen canisters.

 

My kitchen island has a mirrored tray with some fun things!

One of my most FAVORITE things is pretty cookies and baked goods and when I saw Peggy Porschen’s charming pastel gingerbread village cake for the first time, I gasped out loud!

 

So imagine my reaction when I’m at the end of an aisle at HomeGoods and I see the replica made into a decoration.  I ran.  Oh yes I did.  Luckily, there was no other shopper in my way because she might have been pushed aside while I grabbed that pretty piece.  Ok, kidding but seriously….I couldn’t believe I found that!  It was the next best thing to having one of her cakes in my home.

 

Pretty candies can also be found here along with my favorite candles and of course….a glittery nutcracker.

 

On the other side of the kitchen….

Another pretty vignette with a candle.  It’s festive and sparkly.  And we can’t have a whimsical kitchen without Santa Claus!

I found the cutest glittery crowned crane at a local boutique and it was PERFECT for my whimsical kitchen!

It just had to go with my other new nutcracker statue and pretty pink tree.

 

 

 

I added lots of fun ornament that went with my theme.

 

 

 

I added a few of my glitter Christmas village houses along the bottom, around the tree, along with my Santa statue that I recently painted and made-over.  It was an old plain white Santa I’ve had for years so I painted it to go with my kitchen.

Every year I like to make gingerbread houses with the kids and I especially like to make mine pink.  Okay, so I make a mini village.

 

 

 

 

I found some darling candle wreath at Michael’s and decided to use them on the backs of my chairs this year as small wreaths.

 

They have alternating blush and blue velvet ribbon bows on each one.  I also grabbed some of the same maribou boa that I used on my living room tree and hot-glued small pieces on my wreath to resemble snow and then used some old mini Christmas house ornaments on top of that to create a whimsical little Christmas scene.  Fun right?!
