Who is ready for Super Bowl Sunday?  Is your team playing?  Ours is not this year but we do like one team more than the other so I suppose we know who we are rooting for.  I may not be as big of a football fan as my husband, although I do really enjoy a good game, but I always love a good party and love to have people over.  We always ask our friends to bring their favorite things….buffalo wings, pizza, dips or desserts…whatever they are.  But there are 3 things I make sure to bring every single time.  So here are my personal favorite super bowl recipes.

First, you know how much I love, am obsessed with, am addicted to Diet Coke.  There, I put it in writing. I’m slightly ashamed but everyone has their weaknesses right?!  But on a special occasion, which any get-together is (especially Super Bowl Sunday), I love a fun twist to on Diet Coke.  What I really love is a Dirty Diet Coke!  Click HERE for my Dirty Diet Coke 101 post where I share my entire recipe AND a free printable!  Not a Diet Coke fan?  No problem!  You can do this to regular Coke, Dr. Pepper, or Diet Dr. Pepper (or any version of those).

I even have a free printable for the Dirty Dr. Pepper too, as requested by my friends who love it so much.  So head on over THERE and get the recipe.

Second, I may not be Texas-born (I’m a California girl), but I married a Texan and mostly raised our kids here.  I love Texas.  I also love a good dip.  This right HERE (say that in a southern accent lol and you’ll sound like a local) combines both things and is my recipe for my Texas Caviar dip.  It’s delicious and always a crowd favorite.  Oh, and please excuse the picture!  This was in the beginning of my blogging days and did not own a nice camera so this was taken with an iPhone and didn’t capture all the beautiful colors and deliciousness!

Third, nothing hits the spot quite like a giant, chewy, pink sugar cookie.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it!  HERE is my recipe for my Knock-off Swig Sugar Cookie.  It tastes and looks exactly like the original cookie from the Utah-based soda and cookie shop.  Swig is also where the “Dirty Diet Cokes” and other sodas became such a craze.

If you know me at all, you know that I love anything with a bow!  A present, a ponytail, or even on a Kate Spade handbag….I just adore it!  So why not put it on a table setting somehow?  For years this has been one of my favorite ways to fold a napkin so I decided to share many different now napkins that impress!

This past May I participated in a Mothers’ Day Tablescape Blog Hop with some of my blogger friends.  I wish my mom could have been here to enjoy it but she still loved all the pictures.  I thought of her when putting it together.  I wanted it to be soft and feminine with ruffles and flowers and pearls.  It came together beautifully and those bow napkins with pearl stretch bracelets from my online shoppe were the perfect touch of elegance!  Also from my online shoppe is this blush ruffle throw blanket that can be cut length-wise to turn into a runner.  Don’t these bow napkins with pearls make you think of Audrey Hepburn?!

It was very easy to make this bow napkin and I have the directions all on that Mothers’ Day post here.

Here are some of my other favorite bow napkins that impress and will give you some fabulous inspiration.

I love green! It’s so fresh and vibrant and I especially love it paired with gold.  I died when I saw this one made by NancyCreative.

In case you couldn’t already tell, I love gold.  I love the way that GigglesGalore used this bow napkin and placed it vertically, tied with another gold bow.  Just fabulous!  This was her Thanksgiving Tablesetting but I think it would also be stunning for New Years’ Eve.

This emerald place setting by Kate & Co. is just divine!  The bow napkin perfectly loops through the napkin ring and behind the top plates.  I love how the ring goes with the gold beaded glass plates (on my wish list).  This was for a wedding but it can easily be used for a dinner, ladies luncheon, St. Patrick’s Day, Christmas….the options are endless!

Did someone say Kate Spade?  Yes please!  ThePerfectPalette shared this Kate Spade-inspired dinner party that is so swanky and chic for a bunch of girlfriends getting together.

Courtenay at CreekLineHouse shared this more casual way to share a bow napkin at dinner time.  I think it’s absolutely adorable!  Wouldn’t your family just love it for a change?!

These adorable group of women at DC Gourmet Club get together and have dinner parties.  Here are their bow napkins and place settings they made for their Derby Dinner (and wore hats).  My dream group of girlfriends! I love this so much!

I love Tiffany Blue and these bow napkins by Weddings By Vistancia is not only perfect for a wedding or shower, but the size is adorable and I think it would be perfect for a baby shower or luncheon with girlfriends.  This is the first time I’ve seen the bow napkin at the top corner like that. And instead of a menu in the center, you could print out some lovely and inspiring quotes and cut them out in circles.  Wouldn’t that be so fun?!  Putting that on my list!

This bow napkin by Michelle’s Party Plan It is adorable at Easter but can also be perfect throughout the entire spring and even summer with it’s vibrant colors.  Your guests would be delighted to sit down at such a happy table!

Grey Likes Weddings created this bright and fun place setting with bright colors and the bow napkins but why couldn’t you use this on a summer night with dinner on the patio? Or inside! It’s so bold and beautiful and complimented perfectly with that gorgeous floral arrangement.

Tip: I have a lot of fun plates and serve-wear that I’ve collected over the years and MANY of them have been found at thrift stores, garage sales, and estate sales.  So when you see those stack of blue plates or pink or yellow or green, etc. Grab them!  They look stunning as you layer them with your other pieces, especially with your basic white plates.

I adore this summer table that Kerri from A Pop Of Pretty created with these linen-looking bow napkins and natural elements.  She included shells around the table and in the centerpiece and I found it to be a perfect, simple, and classic table without breaking a sweat. And yet, I’m impressed!

Well, our 49’ers didn’t make it to the Super Bowl and neither did our Packers.  But, I always love a good football game…and it was!  Most importantly, good food is essential during a Super Bowl game.  Our friends had us over for a fun night and we had a TON of amaaaaazing food!!  Moving from Texas, I decided to introduce our friends to my Texas Caviar.  It’s soooo easy, zesty and fresh tasting.

Texas Caviar Recipe:
2 cans whitecCorn (drained…or yellow if you don’t have it.  Yellow is smaller and sweeter.)
1 can Ranch Style Beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can black beans (drained and rinsed)
1/2 cup minced sweet onion
2 diced avocados (zest with some lemon juice so that it doesn’t turn brown)
1 bunch minced cilantro (or less if you don’t want as much)
1 jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped
2 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup Red Wine Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
1 packet Italian Seasoning
1 TBSP Garlic Salt

Mix all together in large bowl and serve with either Scoops chips (my hubby’s favorite and easier to eat with) or White Corn tortilla chips with hint of lime (my fave…i love that lime kick).
What did y’all make today??  I ate enough to feed an army tonight so I’m planning on lots of veggies and no sugar tomorrow….ha!

Such a fun night with friends at their Christmas Eve Party!  Especially when Santa and his elf came to bring the kids gifts. They knew so much about each one of the kids and it was too cute. I brought my yummy “Christmas Crack” (see recipe below) and some “Winter Wonderland” cupcakes with gold edible glitter sprinkled on top (found at Hobby Lobby) and also glitter deer toppers (sold here).  I love anything with a deer right now and it just seemed like the perfect touch.  They were almost too pretty to eat…but I ate one….or two?

Now, for the “Christmas Crack”…and I call it that because, and not that I’ve ever done crack, it is soooo addicting that you can’t put it down and next thing I know I’ve eaten enough for 5 people.  I only make it around Christmas because I’d be the size of the house if I allowed myself to eat it year round.

6 C Corn or Rice Chex Cereal
6 C Golden Graham Cereal
1 C slivered almonds
1 C sweetened coconut
1 C butter
1 C light corn syrup
1 C sugar

Mix first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.  Bring the butter, corn syrup and sugar to a boil on the stove.  Let boil for 4 minutes and then pour over dry ingredients and mix well.  Now, you can put it in a glass dish or just do like I do and keep it in a big bowl, tightly covered.  It goes so quickly and we just grab it by the handfuls until it’s gone.  It is the perfect texture, taste and super ooey, gooey and chewy!  If you have not had this before, you are either gonna love me (because it’s soooo good) or hate me (because it’s soooo good and you can’t stop yourself).  Enjoy!  and Merry Christmas!
